Friends of Foster Children of Palm Beach County is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and we live our mission everyday of “Fostering happy childhoods by enriching lives impacted by foster care.”
Friends of Foster Children is a result of a mutual merger of two longtime Palm Beach County organizations - The Foster and Adoptive Parents Association and Friends of Abused Children. This unification produced a
new vision of providing services, support and education to overcome the effects of child abuse and neglect which makes us the positive change agent needed in Palm Beach County. It is our hope that each of these children can experience a healthy childhood and become productive members of society.
Friends of Foster Children is committed to replacing the negative stereotypes of the child welfare system with the positive possibilities for Palm Beach County children. We are uniquely poised to be a family success center at the heart of child welfare in our community.
As a family success center we strive to provide comprehensive advocacy for kinship, foster and adoptive caregivers
to the youth in the Florida foster care system. In addition to the services we offer, we provide opportunities that enrich the whole family’s life.
As we continue to grow and develop thoughtful community partnerships we are able to provide meaningful family enrichment activities. In the past these have included Busch Gardens for Teens, Rapids Water Park, South Florida Fair, Foster Parent Appreciation luncheon, Graduation party, Thanksgiving baskets, Holiday Toys, performances at the Kravis Center, and more. This is a small representation of the annual opportunities that we have.
One of our community partnerships is with L.O.T. Health Services. This clinic is housed in our building and offers free and reduced-cost medical services to everyone, regardless of access to health insurance.
